Social networking IS the wave of the future as far as advertising goes. And there’s plenty of competition with everyone from your grandma to a pile of fungus having a facebook fan page. But Acura is hoping to steal away car lover’s attention with their news feed ads and promotions.

It’s not just Farmville updates and funny Lolcat posts – through their Facebook profile, the all new Acura ZDX gives away test drives, free subscriptions to online magazines/newspapers – and even auctions off car head rests autographed by popular artist. What I don’t understand is if you use a Crosby, Still & Nash signed head rest, won’t the oils in your hair eventually wipe it off? I’d switch them out before a long drive. ZDX’s page is already up to over 2100 fans – So, why not add the ZDX to your friends list?

Or is it a hatchback? A sedan? Acura hopes to combine all these effects – comfort, styling and performance – in this mash-up coupe/sedan. ZDX also combines design concepts from both the auto maker’s Southern California and Japan studios.

The vehicle uses a 3.7-liter V6 VTEC engine pumping out 300-horsepower and up to 270 ft-lbs of torque, and the “Super Handling All-Wheel Drive,” aka SH-AWD, as Acura calls it. Passengers will sit under the large panoramic glass roof, supposedly the largest in class. A 10-speaker surround sound system with 15gb hard drive keeps the tunes audible for everyone. From the 19-inch aluminum wheels, to the MacPherson struts, and the 8-inch video screen. All standard, so far.

Price details have not yet been released – but Acura will keep us all posted!
