It’s so quiet in Tokyo, even with the 2009 Motor Show going on. Hyundai didn’t show up, Acura made it a point to let everyone know they weren’t coming. In fact, many of the world’s top auto makers skipped out on this year’s event, largely due to the economy. Cut backs in Research & Design meant less new models and no huge break throughs in design for many companies, especially in the USA. With nothing to show off or not extra cash to ship vehicles / promotions people halfway around the world, Acura’s booth, along with several others, are left empty.

Many of the cars that did show up include homemade brands – Toyota, Nissan Nd Honda all displaying new hybrids, zero-emissions and electric vehicles during the event. Maybe next year Acura will have a line-up of hybrid vehicles to pimp out.
